The vines are starting late this year and have a long way to go before Nov. harvest. Thankfully, their appears to be very little damage to any of our buds or vines. After reading the PSU Extension report about all the dead vines and harsh conditions we were really worried that our vines might have suffered a terrible winter and harvests would suffer. It looks like those reports do not reflect our personal experience and we are now starting to prune back our insurance buds and terminal shoots to keep our vines under control. It would be great to have some Spring rains to recharge the shale aquifer, but with deep roots and careful crop management I am certain we will be able to produce another year of high quality grapes and juice. Stop by and check out our vineyard and enjoy some of ourwines from the last 2 vintages.
