We are very excited to offer our first Reserve Vintage at Cassel Vineyards. Pictured above is our last remaining bottle of 2013 Regular Vintage beside the newly released 2014 Winner's Circle Red. The blend is a combination of our estate grown Chambourcin and Cabernet Franc. This year, the 2013 Vintage was awarded a silver medal in the 2016 PA Wine Association Wine Competition for Dry Red Wine. There is no fruit, juice or wine from any other source and 2013 was a very good harvest year. It also coincided with the first year we began using French Oak Barrels made in Montrachet, France.
The quality wine and amazing French Oak gave us the idea of tucking 2 barrels away for an extra year of ageing. Needless to say, it turned out to be a great idea. We now have 42 cases of this very special wine and we will release it beginning this Friday, June 10 at our Music in the Vines concert with Hank Imhoff. Trust me when I say it is worth the trip and the $3 tasting fee to try these two wines side by side. Unless you still have a 2013 vintage bottle, you will need to compare it to our 2014.
Hope you can make it out to try it. I can only promise that I will wait until Friday before I have my first bottle!
