New Release! Chambourcin Rose' aka...White ChambourZin

Remember when White Zin was the best thing going at summer picnics and pool parties? Well, it’s time for Cassel Vineyards to release our version of White Zin in the form of our new Chambourcin Rose’! The story of our White ChambourZin is interesting. Last year (2018) was one of the worst years for grape growing anyone can remember. The rain just kept falling all Summer and Fall resulting in low yields at harvest. We took a chance by picking our Chambourcin at the normal time but found it lacked the personality necessary for making our fine red wine, so we experimented with the 2018 harvest to see what a Chambourcin Rose’ would taste like. We bottled half of it still and sparkled the other half to make a lightly carbonated, sparkling Chambourcin we call Preakness Pink.

To our delight, the still (non sparkling) wine has finally reached it’s peak and we plan to release it the weekend of July 5-7.   (If you are a member of the wine club, you can enjoy a sneak preview sampling on Thurs., July 4 when we celebrate Fireworks over the Vineyard). We plan to release our version of White Zinfandel at our free, concerts Friday, July 5 or Sat. July 6 or you can stop by for open mic on Sunday from 4-6:00.  You really have to try this new wine to believe how good it tastes. Take a bottle home for your next picnic, patio or pool party.

This year has already featured the release two great new Chambourcin wine’s at Cassel Vineyards. If you have missed them, the new Reserve Chambourcin 2016 was released in April and has become a crowd favorite. We were also fortunate enough to release our new lightly carbonate Preakness Pink rose’ for the second race of the Triple Crown. That makes two amazing Chambourcin wines in just two months.

For our third and final New Chambourcin of the year, we have created a wine that will take you back to 1980 when the pink, sweet rose’ in your glass was probably made by Sutter Home. We’re bringing it back with our version of pink, sweet (white) Chambourcin. Our New Chamboucin Rose’ is an upscale version of the White Zins that introduced so many to the world of wine.  We hope our Chambourcin Rose’ helps you to recall some great memories and make some great new ones.
